Privacy notice
Who we are
This website is run by Modernise Technology Consulting Limited ("Modernise", "we", "us"), a company registered in Ireland with company number 820419. Our registered office is Oak House, Lucan-Newlands Road, Lucan, Co. Dublin.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us about anything in it at info@modernise.ie or on +353 1 575 4819.
What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal data when you visit this website or contact us by email or phone. If you become a client, how we handle data within that work is set out in our agreement with you.
When you visit this website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools, and it does not ask you for any personal information. Our fonts are stored on our own site, so your browser does not contact other services to load them.
The site is hosted by GitHub. Like most hosting providers, GitHub may record basic technical information, such as your IP address, in server logs to keep the service running and secure. GitHub explains this in its privacy statement.
When you contact us
If you email or phone us, we receive the details you choose to share. This usually means your name, contact details, your organisation and role, and what you would like to discuss.
We use this information to reply to you, to discuss whether and how we can help, and to keep a record of our business correspondence. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising. We share it only where needed with:
- service providers who support our business, such as Microsoft for email and document storage, and GitHub for website hosting
- our professional advisers, such as our accountants or lawyers, where needed
- public authorities, where the law requires it
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under EU law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to work together, we keep the correspondence for up to two years and then delete it. If we go on to work together, we keep records for as long as we need them for that work, and afterwards for as long as tax and company law require, which is generally six years.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it or limit how we use it. You can also object to how we use it. To make a request, email info@modernise.ie. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
